The Cleanse

I'm so close to the end I can almost taste it. I have been doing it for just over two weeks now, and my last day is Sunday (just in time before I get to see island girl's smiling face). The acupuncturist said I was just gong to feel so good that I wouldn't want to go back to the way I used to eat. I admit I have cheated a few days, but I don't feel better. I don't think she understood how healthy I ate before I started this craziness. I have lost a few pounds though, not as much as I thought I would. I think my fat loves me to much.

Pasta

I have always wanted to learn how to make homemade pasta, and guess what, I finally did. It was surprisingly easy too. Just flour and eggs. Now, I really want a pasta rolling machine (the hand cranked kind). At $100 dollars it is not quite in my unemployed budget, but I will get one, eventually, that is...

Today I am ready for a break.
Anyone else feel like this?

The River Wild

I was in Oregon last week.
Oh, and good news, the vacation tradition continues, I got a speeding ticket on my way home. Vi- at this point I am going to quit driving like a Californian.
The primary purpose of my trip was to do a belated birthday gift for my MIL. She told me around Christmas time that she has always wanted to go river rafting. So, for her birthday the husband and I got her (and me) a rafting trip.
This is us before we leave for our big adventure. I do not have any pictures from the rafting itself, I was not willing to possibly sacrifice another camera. We did have a good time. The McKenzie River was cold, very cold, and we were both pretty soaked when our half-day trip was over.
Over-all it was a birthday victory.
